Tennis

Tennis turns on a handful of points.

One break can settle a set, so the match is played out set by set.

  1. Serve and return

Who wins more points behind their serve, and how often they hold.

  2. Break points and pressure

Who wins the big points: break points, deuce and tiebreaks.

  3. Surface

Hard, clay, grass or indoor, translated into each player’s strengths.

  4. Rest and schedule

Back-to-back three-setters, late finishes, travel and injuries, read in first.

  5. Head to head

Past meetings count, with the surface and date attached. Old ones count less.

  6. The price, set beside ours

Our chance beside each bookmaker’s, for the winner, the games and the sets.

Nothing hidden. Every number shows its working.

See what was read, which findings moved the chance and by how much.

How every number is made

  1. Research the match

Thirteen passes, one question each: injuries, form, tactics, schedule, conditions, officials.

  2. Weigh every source

A finding counts only as much as its sources earn. A stale or late source scores zero.

  3. Cap every finding

No finding can move the number far, and a weakly sourced one moves it less.

  4. Price every outcome

The findings become one chance per result, adding up to exactly 100%.

  5. Then check the price

Only now does the price come in. Where our chance beats it, you see the gap.

What stands behind it

Built by engineers and AI agents. Every figure here is read from the code.

54 instruments draw each sport the way its fans read it. Prices are checked against 72 bookmakers. More than 7,000 automated tests run before every release.

Four rules every run follows

Whole, or refunded

A failed pass is retried deeper. A run that still cannot finish is never published, and your credit comes back.

The price stays out of it

No research pass sees the bookmaker’s odds, so our chance cannot copy theirs.

Refreshed before the start

Re-run four times before the start, at no cost to you.

At 72 hours, 24 hours, 6 hours and 75 minutes before the start.
Nothing hidden

Every finding shows what it did to the number and links to what it read.

Four places to ask. One shows the working.

One question, put to each: Carlos Alcaraz v Alexander Zverev. Example data.

How much work goes into the answer?

13 research agents read the match, often for over an hour.

11 findings from 486 pages read, 31 cited
  • Agent 1 Availabilityno change
No withdrawal or medical note for either player

The order of play lists the match and the tournament has published nothing about either player’s fitness. The pass looked and found nothing, which is a result rather than an absence of one.

    80% confidence
  • Agent 2 Form & underlying play+0.9%from 2 findings
Alcaraz’s hard-court level has held through the autumn

His serve and return points won on hard courts over recent months sit above his own season average, against opponents of a similar ranking. The sample is several matches deep and the points behind the results support them.

    78% confidence
  • Agent 3 Tactics & style+0.7%from 3 findings
Alcaraz’s drop shot targets Zverev’s deep court position

Zverev rallies from further behind the baseline than most of the top ten, which leaves the most court in front of him. Alcaraz uses the drop shot and the approach more than any other leading player, so this is a mechanism, not a general strength.

    74% confidence
  • Agent 4 Matchup historyno change
An evenly shared head to head with no repeating pattern

Each has beaten the other on big occasions, and the results do not lean one way by surface or by year. A few scorelines are not a mechanism, so this is recorded and applied to nothing.

    66% confidence
  • Agent 5 Historical comparables+0.4%from 2 findings
The better returner tends to win the serve against return clash

When a top returner meets a top server on a hard court, the returner wins more of those matches than ranking alone suggests. The mechanism is second-serve pressure, the same one the tactics pass found.

    64% confidence
  • Agent 6 Rest, load & travel+0.3%from 2 findings
Zverev spent longer on court reaching this round

He needed three sets in his last match and finished late in the evening session, while Alcaraz won in two. The gap in recovery is a few hours and is applied as a small effect.

    70% confidence
  • Agent 7 Weather & venue+0.1%from 2 findings
Humid evening air slows the ball slightly

Heavier air takes a little pace off the serve, which helps the player who wins more on return. The effect is small and is applied as one.

    58% confidence
  • Agent 8 Stakes & incentivesno change
The same points are at stake for both

Both are chasing ranking points late in the season. Wanting a result more is not a mechanism, and the pass found nothing that separates them.

    66% confidence
  • Agent 9 Officiating & disciplineno change
Electronic line calling leaves the chair little to decide

Every line is called electronically and the serve clock is applied evenly. There is no mechanism here worth applying.

    72% confidence
  • Agent 10 Public information environmentno change
Nothing new came out of either press conference

Both players spoke after their previous round. No change of team, schedule or plan was mentioned, so there is no information event to apply.

    76% confidence
  • Agent 11 Reporting consensusno change
Reached separately by two independent analyses

A tactical breakdown and a points database reached the same conclusion from different evidence. Independent confirmation raises how far the claim is trusted.

    78% confidence
  • Agent 12 Universal-pattern hypothesesno change
A night-session claim, written up and given no weight

A widely shared claim that favourites struggle under the lights in Shanghai was written as a precise rule for the registry to test. Until it survives a holdout, it moves nothing.

    50% confidence
  • Agent 13 Adversarial review−0.4%from 2 findings
Best of three leaves little room to recover

One break or one tiebreak can settle a set, and two sets settle the match. A strong favourite loses more often over three sets than over five, so part of the edge is taken back.

    72% confidence

One credit buys one researched match.

Thirteen research passes, a chance for every result. Re-reading your own is free.

What people ask before they start.

Still unsure? A person answers every email.

[email protected]

No. It holds no bookmaker account and never moves your money. Recording a bet as real only adds it to your own ledger.

A bet you record at the price you were shown, with a stake you choose and no money involved. It is graded by the result like any other. Watching records the call with no stake at all.

You upload a screenshot of a bet. BAI8 reads each leg and prices the whole bet, including legs that depend on each other. A leg it cannot read is marked unread, never guessed.

From the research, never from the bookmaker. An assessment builds each chance from the match’s own evidence, and every finding is capped and weighted by how credible its sources are. Only then is the price brought in to compare. Before an assessment, there is no number.

As long as the match needs, often more than an hour. Thirteen research passes read the match, and every source they find is graded for credibility and weighted by it. If a run cannot finish, the credit is refunded.

One assessment of one match. Opening one somebody else has already run costs a credit too, and re-reading one you hold is free. A new account gets five credits to try BAI8, valid for ten days. Every plan includes credits, and packs bought on their own never expire.

BAI8 compares prices at more than seventy bookmakers, each matched to the countries that license it, and shows them in your odds format, your currency and one of six languages. Use BAI8 only where betting is legal for you.

Your edge is the gap between our chance of a result and the chance the price implies. A positive edge is an estimate, not a promise. 18+, bet lawfully where you are. Betting loses money for most people who do it.
