Six BAI8 calls settled from Monday 12 October: three won, three lost. Torino, Atalanta and the Milwaukee Brewers landed. Sevilla, Newcastle and Famalicão did not. Of the two calls with a positive edge, one won (the Brewers) and one lost (Sevilla, pegged back to 3–3 in stoppage time). Every number below comes from the public record, misses included.

Every call, settled

Fixture Our pick Our chance Price seen Edge Score Result
Brewers v Dodgers (MLB) Brewers 51.6% 1.95, 1xBet +0.4 pts 2–1 Won
Atalanta v Venezia Atalanta 49.9% 1.66, 1xBet −10.4 pts 3–1 Won
Torino v Udinese Torino 38.4% 2.44, Betfair −2.6 pts 2–1 Won
Levante v Sevilla Sevilla 37.6% 2.84, Betfair +2.4 pts 3–3 Lost
Coventry v Newcastle Newcastle 39.0% 2.18, Betfair −6.9 pts 4–1 Lost
Famalicão v Alverca Famalicão 39.8% 1.88, Betr −13.4 pts 1–4 Lost

The Brewers game started at 00:00 UTC on Monday (Sunday night in Milwaukee), which is why it sits in Monday's list.

What went right and what did not

Sevilla were the one that stung. They led 1–0 at half-time and 3–2 in stoppage time, then Ifeanyi Ndukwe equalised in the tenth added minute, per BBC Sport. A draw settles a match-result pick as a loss. We had covered the build-up in what Stassin's absence does to Sevilla.

Newcastle and Famalicão were misses with a negative edge. Both prices were shorter than our fair price, which means the market was more sure of them than we were. Coventry won 4–1, their first top-flight home win in 25 years according to BBC Sport, and Alverca won 4–1 at Famalicão.

Three wins at modest chances. Torino at 38.4% won through a goal from substitute Sandro Kulenović (AP via Yahoo Sports). Atalanta beat bottom club Venezia 3–1. The Brewers won NLCS Game 1 on their bullpen, which we pull apart in what a taxed bullpen does to a playoff price.

The day in numbers

Calls Won Expected wins (sum of our chances)
All six 6 3 2.6
Positive edge 2 1 0.9

Three wins against 2.6 expected is a normal day. Six results cannot tell you whether the research is good; why that is so is the subject of how many bets before a record means anything.

What this does not tell you

It does not tell you what you would have made: prices moved after these quotes, and a draw-heavy evening like Levante's turns on a single kick. It does not grade the research either. One day is noise; the full record, 79 settled calls so far, is at the BAI8 record.

18+. Bet only what you can afford to lose.
