The NFL's official schedule places the 2026 kickoff weekend on 9, 10, 13 and 14 September. This article is dated 12 August, one day before the first full preseason weekend and almost four weeks before the regular season begins.
That is too early to present spread disagreements as current findings. A claim such as a road favourite giving three, or an offensive line missing two starters, means nothing without the teams, a roster source and a captured price. Where a disagreement can be published
The NFL calendar provides clear evidence gates. Clubs do not have to reduce their active rosters to 53 players until 18:00 New York time on 30 August. Waiver claims from that reduction run into 31 August. An assessment run on 12 August would therefore be using a camp roster, not the roster that will play Week One.

Why the uncertainty is wider now
The first preseason weekend runs from 13 to 15 August. Its games can provide observations, but they do not settle which players will make the active roster or what role each will have in September. Treating a preseason depth chart as a final one would turn an unresolved input into false precision.
