Raiders v Rams prediction and odds
We make the Raiders 56.2% at home to the Rams, fair price 1.78, and saw 2.50 at Unibet: a 16.2 point edge. Our chances, the injury report and the risks.
On this page
We make the Las Vegas Raiders favourites at home to the Los Angeles Rams: Raiders 56.2%, Rams 43.8%. The best moneyline price we saw on the Raiders was 2.50 at Unibet (NL), against our fair price of 1.78. That is a 16.2 point positive edge. At 2.50 the market gives the Raiders about 40%, so it has the Rams as favourites, and we do not. The number is an estimate, not a promise.
Kick-off is 20:25 UTC on Sunday 25 October (1:25 p.m. Pacific) at Allegiant Stadium, on FOX. The Raiders are 3-3 and the Rams 2-4, per NFL.com.
Our numbers
The card prices the two sides only; ties are rare in the NFL.
| Outcome | Our chance | Fair price | Best price seen | Edge |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Las Vegas Raiders | 56.2% | 1.78 | 2.50, Unibet (NL) | +16.2 pts |
| Los Angeles Rams | 43.8% | 2.28 |
The card was published at 16:56 UTC on 23 October, and the 2.50 was quoted at 04:17 UTC on 24 October, about 40 hours before kick-off. A 16 point gap is wide for an NFL side, wide enough that we treat it with care; why is in why a very wide edge makes us look twice. Fair price is simply 1 divided by our chance: 1 / 0.562 is about 1.78.
What the research weighs
- The records. The Raiders are 3-3 and the Rams 2-4 after six weeks. The market makes the Rams favourites on the road anyway.
- The Rams' pass rush is thin. ESPN lists Myles Garrett and Kobie Turner on injured reserve, so the Rams arrive without two of their best defensive linemen.
- The Rams' defence is short in the middle too. Linebacker Nate Landman is out with a concussion, per the Rams' own report, and Eric Kendricks has been elevated to cover.
- Brock Bowers is fine. The Raiders' tight end was a full participant in practice, per the Raiders' report.
Injuries
| Player | Team | Status | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Puka Nacua (WR) | Rams | Questionable, calf | Rams report |
| Trent McDuffie (CB) | Rams | Questionable, groin, no practice all week | Rams report |
| Nate Landman (LB) | Rams | Out, concussion | Rams report |
| Mike Washington Jr. (RB) | Raiders | Questionable, foot and back | Raiders report |
| Carter Runyon | Raiders | Out, foot | Raiders report |
| Dont'e Thornton Jr. (WR) | Raiders | Out, hamstring | Raiders report |
Nacua was limited on Thursday and did not practise on Friday. Sean McVay called the problem "minor". What his status does to this price is in Puka Nacua's calf and the Raiders price.
What could make us wrong
If Nacua and McDuffie both play at full strength, the Rams are closer to the side the market is pricing. Thornton's absence takes a receiver away from the Raiders, and a questionable running back can limit how they protect a lead. NFL games also turn on a handful of plays: one turnover can be worth more than every injury on this list.
What this does not tell you
It does not say the Raiders will win; on our numbers they lose about 44 times in 100. It covers the moneyline only, not the spread or the total. The 2.50 is a timestamp, and the price will move once Sunday's inactives are out. The week's NFL view is in NFL Week 7: our Raiders-Rams call. If you want to bet the spread instead, read key numbers in American football: 3 and 7 first.
