We have three Desk calls on Sunday 11 October: Crystal Palace against Nottingham Forest, Strasbourg away at Nice, and the San Francisco 49ers in Seattle. Two are football at 13:00 UTC, one is the NFL at 20:25 UTC. Each number is an estimate, not a promise.
The three cards
| Fixture | Kick-off (UTC) | Our side | Our chance | Fair price | Best price seen | Edge |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest | 13:00 | Crystal Palace | 36.9% | 2.71 | 2.90, Betfair | +2.4 pts |
| Nice v Strasbourg | 13:00 | Strasbourg | 37.7% | 2.65 | 3.07, 1xBet | +5.1 pts |
| Seattle Seahawks v San Francisco 49ers | 20:25 | 49ers | 52.2% | 1.91 | 2.56, Betfair | +13.2 pts |
How to read them side by side
The two football calls look similar: a side at 37% or so, in a three-way market where the draw takes 28 to 29%. Neither side is a strong favourite. The full working is in our Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest prediction and Nice v Strasbourg prediction.
The NFL card is a two-way market, so 52.2% is close to a coin flip with a small lean. The 13.2 point gap is the largest on the Desk, but the 2.56 was quoted at 00:07 UTC on 9 October, more than two days ago. Our Seahawks v 49ers prediction covers the team news, including Nick Bosa.
What the three have in common
None of them is above 53%. That is normal for us: most of our calls are on sides the market and we both think will lose more often than they win, and the edge column is the only reason they are on the Desk. If you add the three chances as independent events, the most likely Sunday is one win from three (about 43%), and all three winning is about 7%.
What this does not tell you
It does not tell you what the prices are now; all three quotes are from 9 or 10 October. It does not combine the calls into a bet (we do not suggest accumulators), and it does not show the research passes behind each card.
18+. Bet only what you can afford to lose.
