What moved overnight
Our chances stayed where they were. The best prices did not.
| Pick | Price when we published | Price this morning | Edge then | Edge now |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Feyenoord | 6.25 | 5.60 | +21.8 pts | +19.9 pts |
| Pelicans | 2.44 | 2.36 | +18.1 pts | +16.7 pts |
| Lech Poznań | 5.50 | 5.00 | +22.4 pts | +20.6 pts |
| FC Lugano | 4.56 | 4.62 | +16.9 pts | +17.2 pts |
| Gent | 5.00 | 5.25 | +23.8 pts | +24.7 pts |
Three prices shortened towards our numbers and two drifted away. A price moving towards us is not proof we were right; it can just as easily be one generous bookmaker tidying up. That is the point of why one bookmaker's price is not the market.
How to read a week like this
Edges this wide, on this many underdogs, should make you more careful, not less. When we disagree with the whole market by 20 points, the market is usually seeing something we are not. We wrote about that habit in why a very wide edge makes us look twice. Amed SK is the one call where the market agrees with us on who should win; we just think Amed are likelier than the price says. At 2.36 the Pelicans are a modest underdog, not a long shot.
Hoffenheim v Lyon is not on the Desk this morning. Our preview of that game shows the last number we published for it.
What this does not tell you
It does not say any of these six will win. On our own chances, the most likely outcome is that three or four of them lose. Prices move between now and kick-off, and team sheets arrive about an hour before. Each preview has the research behind its number.

Common questions
What are BAI8's predictions this week?
Six live calls from Wednesday 21 to Saturday 24 October: Feyenoord at Real Betis, the Pelicans at home to the Pacers, Lech Poznań v Sunderland, FC Lugano at Getafe, Gent at SC Braga and Amed SK at Samsunspor. All six carry a positive edge at this morning's prices.
Which BAI8 call has the biggest edge this week?
Gent at SC Braga: we make Gent 43.8%, and the best price this morning was 5.25 at Coolbet, a 24.7 point edge. It is also the call we trust least, because the gap is so wide.
Did the prices change since BAI8 published?
Yes. Feyenoord shortened from 6.25 to 5.6 and Lech from 5.5 to 5.0, while Gent drifted from 5.0 to 5.25. Our chances did not change; only the best price did.
Is Hoffenheim v Lyon still a BAI8 call?
It is not on the Desk this morning. Our Hoffenheim v Lyon preview shows the last number we published for it.
